Staff Training

Hey friends and family! I've missed you all.

Staff training has started here at Camp Homewood but first some fun news...

Mikaela is coming to Camp for the WHOLE summer to be nurse! I am so excited. Some things fell through for her this summer and she made the decision (with some convincing) to come up to Camp Homewood.

Aaron, Irwin, and I have been busy planning, teaching, and instructing the new staff at Homewood for the past 5 days, to be effective Christ loving counselors this summer with the campers. They are passionate. They are enthusiastic. They love The Lord. I am excited!!
Next thing on the agenda is something called "Friends of Homewood" where the local Homewood supporters, friends of counsellors, and family of present and past counsellors come to have a meal, meet the new staff, and share in a fun fireside of testimonies and choir style songs by the Homewood crew.

Tomorrow we will embark on our overnight outtrips for a day. The guy counsellors will split into 3 groups and head out to different spots on Quadra island and camp for the night and the girls the same. This is a classic part of staff training, and is instrumental in the counsellors connecting and getting that "Camping" experience that we impress on all the campers that come. Also so that the staff are prepared to safely take their campers on outtrips with confidence.

My head... ya..
It's getting better. PRAISE GOD!
Acupuncture and meds have limited my migraines to one or two a week. Both of these solutions though are quite expensive... which is awful. Please pray!! You can contribute to my medical fund too if you feel called to... I would appreciate it.

What i've learned this month..
The verse is a little out of context but I still find hope in it..

1 Peter 5:10 "In his kindness God called us to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation."

Suffering is a part of life whether physical or spiritual, Peter doesn't say "IF" you suffer.. he says "after you have". God will restore you. I feel like I have suffered and am still suffering.. but I know for a fact through Jesus Christ, I WILL be restored and I am excited for what i'm learning through this time and what I will learn.

PLEASE PRAY FOR US AT HOMEWOOD THIS SUMMER!!!
 WE NEED IT!!!

I love you guys! please comment and encourage us as we give all our energy for the kids this summer.
