HELLO!

Well my friends.. it is time for another update of me. Last you heard I was doing day camps.. well those went well. Then I headed out to woodsman for a week which was epic...
We did sweet manly things with the kids all day. One day we went out to some 20 foot jumping rocks.. not too big of a deal right.. well... as the kids were climbing the sharp, jagged, ominous looking rocks to get up... obviously someone has to fall. None of us leaders see anything. All I hear is.. "Oh my GOSH! His bone is sticking out! Holy crap!"
Soo being such a good first aider.. :D I rushed to the scene expecting a compound fracture with blood everywhere... well I get over this little ridge and I see a kid floating on his back in the water... with a life jacket, screaming. Soo I rushed down to the water... as fast as you can rush on 2 foot spikes of rocks. Get to him in the water.. I didnt know where he was hurt, all I had heard was his bone was sticking out... Soo I cradled his head.. cause i didnt know if there was a spinal injury.. ya know.. falling down rocks.. nobody saw... soo I kinda look over his body and try to calm him down while screaming at the other kids to get out of the way and go look at something else. Soo I finally see the injury... his knee... split open.. soo it seemed I could see his knee cap... yes.. delicious.
Soo, kids out of the way.. child in a safe environment... I call for the lifeguard/medic... he gets there... I explain everything.. meanwhile I am still treading water with this child...
They get him in the boat and they speed away for the hospital a good hour and a half away...
Well... I think it was worse for me then for the medic because I didnt know if he was going to be ok.. I was stuck with the rest of the kids... a little traumatized. well.. alot actually. Soo we had a little prayer time.. and kept on doing manly things. I guess our prayers payed off.. he came back the same night.. holy smokes.. what a blessing.. nobody in the ER and they let them on the ferry for free. He ended up getting 22 stitches.. which is huge! haha and he toughed the rest of the week out on crutches.
Anyways... hospital visits are not uncommon from woodsman... we had another knee victim that same week... he got a stick through his jeans and into his knee... but this one only ended up in 6 stitches haha.
My tent was great out there. One of my atheist campers gave his life to God... which is huge news aswell. I have had a few reports from the directors that parents called in and said I was the best counselor their kid had ever had. :D hehe.
Right now we are doing junior boys harbour. which is just the home camp here. It is going ok.. haha...
One of my kids got up at 3 am the first night without me knowing and called his mom... who called the director asking why her kid couldnt find his way back to his tent hahahaha.
Soo the director drove to the lodge.. took the kid and brought him back to my tent... hahaha
what can ya do.. like seriously... I was sleeping hahah.
Anyways...I am teaching rowing this week... it is the worst.. row boats are stupid.. and kids do not know how to row no matter how much you teach them.
I am also on fireside.. soo I have to lead the kids in songs and a skit and get someone to do a testimony. I am the most rediculous when it comes to funny songs... It's all about overdoing actions and just making a fool of yourself :D
Staff retreat is coming up this weekend.. which I am excited for. We get to do fun things apparently paid for by the camp. :D:D

My sister is getting married... holy crap!

We had a Senior staff verses CIT's soccer game the other week... probly 30 cit's and 14 senior staff. soo we were quite outnumbered. Anyways, I scored the most beautiful header to open the scoring and set up two others for the 4-2 win... soo many injuries though.

I have an amazing tan. Oh and the big news about my hair was that I died it bleach blond haha. It looks pretty amazing. Just go to my facebook profile picture.

Well... time to peace out friends.

Stay sweet!

Josh
